Acne conglobata is one of the more severe types of acne. It is most commonly seen in
caucasian males with oily skin and can last for many years beyond adolescence.

The main lesion is the nodule that starts as a large red, tender growth that becomes soft over time. These lesions mainly involve the chest and back and less commonly the face, buttocks
and thighs. This type of acne can lead to severe scarring.

Acne conglobata requires aggressive treatment and often times accutane (isotretinoin) is necessary to gain control.
